High-heckin'-five, GOG! "Why 4? Why not 3? What about 1 & 2? I had no idea about that Magicka-like magic combo system. If I wasn't sold already, that would've done it. I missed most of the PS1&2 era b/c that's when life happened. So I'm delighted to finally experience this game! Thank you!

3 is probably not releasing as it never had a PC port, just PS1 and PSP, and unless GOG start releasing emulated games, it'll be up to Capcom to make it happen in one way or another.

I think 4 is by far the best entry anyway. 3 was one of my first JRPGs and it was fine... but tbh it´s one I wouldn´t play again and I would rank it as one of the weaker RPGs on PS1.

Having all would be nice but if there it has to be one, 4 is the right choice imo.

The things shared in this blog echo what I have been saying to people for years. To this day, anytime you talk about BoF4, the inevitable "what about 3" will show up ...

But 4 is so much more than just another entry in the franchise. It stands apart from most jrpgs, and is truly unique.

Re-releases is not only preservation for those of us old enough to play them on original release to play again,but to introduce them to new players too young to have made those connections. So including them on a blog posting like this that you are sharing here to promote it seems very wrong to me.

(2/2) So of course I vote for every Breath of Fire entry (as well as various other games) and leave stories.

Then suddenly, one Friday, BAM! Have Breath of Fire 4, everyone.

Bought it as soon as I got home and had a very nice weekend.
