I would definitely get it; definitely shows the sadness of Trunks and shows his desperation to help those he cares about. Really, a more noble version of Vegeta's transformation.
I agree the special made it a very well done scene. Particularly in the English dub, at least imo, the music was very good and Eric Vale killed the scream.
