Ha ha I really liked The Little Mermaid 2 as well lol.
But yeah, the remake is just disappointing. It's not as egregious as some of the other remakes - like Pinocchio completely lost the point - but it definitely doesn't hold a candle to the original film.

There many things they tried (which I mentioned in my review like to me exotic animals for whimsical movements) but the link doesnt work sadly.
I keep thinking of what my partner said when we got out of barbie: "for what it is, it was okay" and I feel like its applicable here too.
I'm really tired of just "okay" movies. I wanna see something that floors me, that makes me go "how did they do *that!*"
But above all, when I see these remakes, I want more respect for animation. The mere existence of these remakes is an insult to the original animators of these films.
