We've just arrived, hopefully posting more stuff soon. And we're as active as sexagenarians can be 😉
We're also trying to coax Sam (LA PRIEST) onto here 🤞
This is what held me back from here until a few days ago. I think the auto-post-to-threads setting from Instagram may make that easier for them. Whilst there is a huge lack of musicians going back to a Twitter-like approach.
I'm in a band that blends our mutual love of 90s adventure games with 90s industrial, rock, and metal. It's all very 90s. ;) https://error47.bandcamp.com
I agree there is exhaustion around socials. But I don’t think musicians suddenly got any less performative or self-indulgent. Not that I missed that. But I just don’t think the water cooler has coalesced yet. And most of the conversations are circular in that we are just talking about blue sky.
Definitely as someone for whom making music / promoting music is very much a thing I do in my own time, the enshittification of Twitter really deflated me in terms of getting on with "working the socials". Things seem to be picking up a bit more here though over the last coupla weeks

I think a lot of musicians have given up on social platforms and the idea of joining a new one isn’t the thrill it once was
