I think, if they're smart, the CDN price stays the same, but the US price will go up. If Americans want to try and dodge tariffs by ordering from Canada, they can try explaining it to customs on their own.

I'm more kinda baffled that they are selling a Japanese only version for ¥50,000/$350USD.

I understand costs of localization, packaging, shipping, etc etc. But I'm personally having a hard time believing that $100USD per unit is what that costs.

The first run will likely be at that price. I think they’ll sell the units that are already in the North American wearhouses but they won’t restock as often as planned, or at all, until the tariffs are lifted. They’ll prioritize markets outside of North America in the short term.

The price of hardware may go up, that's understandable

What isn't is arbitrarily raising the price of games, even digital, without any reason other than "we think it's worth that"

Or charging to patch a game we already paid for just to take advantage of hardware we also already paid for

I think it will absolutely be that price, because everyone's been hounding Nintendo for decades to make a console with some Big Beef in it, and now that they did, it costs a bit more money than it used to! No way!
