But despite this recognition for the importance peatlands, Canada still refuses to get involved in any meaningful way to protect the McClelland Lake Wetland Complex in northern Alberta from the expansion of Suncor's Fort Hills oil sands mine. #DontMineMcClelland #CDNPoli #ABLeg

This mine expansion should not be allowed to proceed as planned. Especially when the scientific evidence shows conclusively that we need an immediate and rapid phase-out of fossil fuel production/combustion to meet our target of limiting warming to 1.5°C. #COP28 #CDNPoli #ABLeg

It’s sad that Alberta continues to allow pest mining, a completely uni& harmful practice. I don’t know what other provinces allow, but I can’t see a strong justification for this legacy exploitation. #cdnpoli
