Yes! I did know that! I was 21 years old, I lived on the Chesapeake Bay and I thought the world was going to be a great place. I know it doesn't seem like those statements go together but I suppose I was young, happy and hopeful. Oh well, right?

America was never more progressive than it was in the 1970s. Much of our govt'l progress can be pegged to trying to placate citizens' hatred of the Vietnam War, which finally ended in '75. It took Reagan negotiating in the dark w/Ayatollah Khomeini to steal the election & end America the beautiful.
This too is true. But Vietnam was an unjust war that we should have stayed out of after the French gave up! The '60s and early '70s also brought into focus women's rights that Republicans today want to take back from women! They also want to revoke the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote!😠
I WAS in the camp that Carter had an unsuccessful presidency but a remarkable post presidency. Listening to his accomplishments during his service made me realize how wrong that was. He accomplished so much as president and I have revised my assessment. Anyone else???
I voted for Carter and never doubted his desire to provide America the very best democracy had to offer. The GOP campaigned to destroy him and also kept our people held hostage in Iran to later make Reagan look like a hero, they sacrificed our people for a photo op & press release against Carter
And this is the propaganda that the GOP wants you to believe! Just like Obama and the Biden administrations! The GOP stands for only 3 things! The dumbing down of America, misinformation, and deflection from their own failed policies & agenda! They are trying to rewrite history!
That explains why the right wingers are trying to discredit it and destroy it with their bullshit. It’s a knee-jerk reaction to ANYTHING created by Democrats to help serve Americans that aren’t morbidly wealthy.
