If it wasn't for the heavily populated northern part of the state, up by DC, Virginia would be very very red. So, yes, geographically speaking, I suppose.
Got it-- but the same would apply to NV which actually went red which was why I was asking about the difference. (The same would really apply to most states to greater and lesser degrees. Eyeballing it, CA is about 4/5ths red, geographically, for example.)

MD is behind only DC and VT in terms of vote share going to the Democrats, so I don't get the swaying, either.
NV, on the other hand, swayed red in 2024.
All they have to do is pass the same test that immigrants like myself had to take to become US citizens.
