Actually, the UK does have a Constitution. Though not a separate document, it is deemed to derive from the Acts of Parliament & the judicial decisions interpreting them. This, the original body of "common law" on which the U. S. Legal system is based lacks the single hierarchical document. But...

* There is no higher Court to OVERRULE them
* There is no enforceable ethics code to BIND them

I remember back in the 1970s I took several Constitutional Law classes. We learned that one of the more important methods used by the SCOTUS for case interpretation was called intent of the framers. I never heard the term originalism, this was defeated in our Civil War.

Absolutely. The constitution was always intended as a framework, not a final say. A floor in some places, a ceiling in others - it was intended to limit govt and protect broad liberty for the people. Now our courts are using it as a weapon.

Don’t count on it. SCOTUS has been bought by the Koch Brothers, Federalist Society, and Heritage Foundation. Mitch McConnell helped end our democracy by stuffing the courts with politicized judges. All three branches of government have been compromised. The barbarians have breached the city walls!
