I mean, kinda? But also, it tears out the commercial delivery infrastructure. Also, for the larger report, I'd say more residential conversions of offices would do so much more than trying to save commercial through laissez faire policies that aren't going to benefit small businesses all that much

I just mean in terms of making Market more walkable and pleasant. I loved removing personal cars from the street and that little holiday plaza thing they did (not sure if it still happens)

That's the Union Square BID, and yeah, that still happens. Closing down market to regular traffic was probably a good call too since no one actually NEEDS to drive down Market as a thoroughfare, but closing it off to buses and delivery trucks too would create far more congestion long term imo
