I got one of those folding desktop animation desks as a graduation present, nothing nearly as fully featured or expensive as a disney or bluth desk but it's a prized possession of mine nonetheless

these used to be fairly affordable by animation equipment standards but I honestly just advocate for DIY desks for how expensive they've gotten

That's really nice. I remember people coming in to sell them, but they were expensive.
I used the clear lid of my record player instead!

I am very much not above using cheap solutions, here’s my desk and also my own Jerry rigged lightpad that is a cheap light pad, plexiglass clipboard and pegbar taped together
