I really need to consider this. They do accept out of state. I’d never fly her in cargo so I’d have to drive to New York. I also need to check with family so when I do go on short work trips, either of my sisters will keep her at their house.

Did they tell you anything about the progression of her blindness? Completely blind soon vs old age regression are different. I’m used to old age deteriorating yet sight but not blindness. I’d have to figure out what her needs would be. And hard of hearing and blindness has its challenges, too.

She actually just got her eyes checked and they're not actively progressing! Two vets both said they were impressed by how much she can see despite the cloudiness. She's totally deaf but it doesn't seem to bother her.

I’ve been drawn to an older dog after loving older age with both my Brittany dogs that lived to 17. And when I did some work in New Orleans, I volunteered to walk the dogs at Villa Lobos, the Pitbulls and Parolees rescue. The sweet older ones never got rescued. Promised myself I would someday.

Oh that’s good news. My Brittany was like that for about 7 years with the cloudiness. It stayed with northwest to swim but we went everywhere together and it never was a problem. Totally deaf isn’t always a bad thing. She’d be loved and treated as well as you treat Simon.
