This applies to VO, too. Specializing in two or three media is way better for your sanity, but the best actors I know, with the most sustainable careers, still indulge their curiosity. They get lessons in other media & performing arts and nurture interests not adjacent to VO.

I look at a lot of student illustration these days and I can 1000% tell who has references outside of contemporary comics and animation. the work is better and more interesting.
