I smell fire now.
I'm assuming it's from the one in Sylmar.

I can't see or smell any of the fires from where I live, but the wind is screaming outside and the power is flickering, and I can only think about how lucky we are here that this is the only issue going on right here and right now.

I'm in Northridge; the nearest mountains are north of me by a couple of miles. I'm not particularly concerned about the fires getting to where I am specifically, but that still doesn't ease the general anxiety/upsetness over this all.

Yes, I totally understand. I was in San Dimas for the entirety of the Bobcat Fire - though there wasn’t a risk where I was, the stress of the fire was quite wearing.

My wife is a teacher at Frost MS in Granada Hills (above the 118).

It's in an evacuation warning area but inexplicably still open today.
