Just last night I was listening to the PFYT episode where this strip was brought up!

That era had a great art style. Just the right amount of expressiveness.

I forgot about penny arcade so long ago..

I was scrolling through until the characters looked "normal" and then was hurt by how old it is.

That last panel had lived in my head for over a decade.

I still think about this one from time to time

As someone who also knows far more than is typically necessary about manticores, I have always appreciated this strip.
