Except that’s not what he’s describing. The capital was under assault. The “funny business” was the chaos that ensued because T supporters were encouraged and emboldened. To view it otherwise isn’t living in reality.

If the violence really was all there is to it, as you claim, why did Johnson bother to go through so much (sent home, put on house arrest, lost his job+any future in the department) to blow the whistle on his superiors? Why is he now a Trump supporter? The guy went on infowars for crying out loud. 😭

I can’t understand how people contort themselves to see a different version of reality. We saw the footage. We heard the rhetoric. 100s of depositions. 100+ convictions. But yeah, that’s not what REALLY happened. Wow.
It was a shit show. I'm not denying that. It was a terrible occurance. BUT the people calling the shots at the Capitol could have prevented a lot of it. Assets were denied. Deployment was stalled. Listen to what the Capitol police chief Steven Sund had to say about the chain of command that week.
