Correct. I empathize with livelihoods and followings, but they shouldn’t be dependent on any one platform anyway. It’s a choice after some point. If even to watch it all burn, is to contribute to its longevity.

One major factor in Trump taking over our institutions has been his ability to force or cajole people into doing things they know are unethical. Elon has the same power, whether via Tesla or Twitter. Self justify all you want, you're still doing something wrong and you know it.

I'd add a loosely related point: withdrawing from there makes it clear (in a quicksort kinda way) to the person who's a short step further than you on the "nothing matters" spectrum that that attitude is leaving them with morons, crooks and nazis

The company’s future is bleak and the value of the stock is solely tied to Elon’s connection to Trump.

The only reason I look at Twitter is, I’m getting served ads from local businesses-car dealers, HVAC, etc. and I email them to tell them I saw them on the site owned by the Nazi who wants to cut my SS, and I’m going to leave that review everywhere. Maybe I’m deluding myself that I’m striking back.
