i suspect the price increase isn't just due to tarrifs for physical but could be in equal part due to the faster storage requirements for switch 2 games. SD express uses faster PCIE based storage. stands to reason the gamecarts have the same tech, hence the inflated price compared 2 digital
its weird that nintendo is the only company of the big 3 selling their games even after years for almost the full price online so them trying to eliminate cartridges would just be such a shame I am sure. The thing is the port is backwards compatible with normal SD cards but that wouldnt push sales
yeah IMHO they should have at least included support for them for storage/playing switch 1 games only akin to how PS5/Xbox Series S|X support HDD for last gen games.
but yea reality is there is still consumer benefit to cartridges because discs are too slow 2 play most modern games directly off of.
this echoes industry trends of the old era of cartridge gaming where cart prices varies widely depending on what hardware was inside before discs became standard and that variable was eliminated
I don’t know which is worse. The idea of eating these (especially at those prices) or the fact that I now have Debbie Gibson’s song Red Hot stuck in my head. (Wife’s favorite 80s song)

That'll show people for licking their game cards.
