Like I've said before - cash should remain an option. The cashless convenience isn't so great. If they don't like what you're doing, they'll shut off your chips.

This is about credit cards being used for official business expenses while on the road. Nobody has a per diem envelope of cash from their employers anymore.
Yes, but we're becoming a cashless society. A cash option should remain, otherwise it's all chips that can be shut off as is happening. They can't shut off your cash if you don't store it in a bank.
What did they do before credit cards? Maybe the need wasn't as great then? Maybe checks - which is nearly the same? Maybe the budget should sit in an untouchable account? Idk.
I worked in banking "before" credit cards. People used cash - and checks (mostly in the mail). We did not think credit cards would "go over" well - because people liked to have cash too much - LOL
Not sure what to tell you. The world has changed a lot in 40 years. You can't reserve a car, hotel room, or airplane ticket without a credit card these days. You're suggesting all federal employees, like inspectors and enforcement officials, should just not be able to do their jobs on the road.
No, that's not what I mean at all. I even suggested a different way using credit cards. I get that it's everywhere now, but that's kind of the point of what I was saying, which was ancillary to what you were saying, I know, but it was still related in that those in power can shut off chips.
