I'm not looking forward to all the security vulnerabilities that are going to emerge in programs written by people that never understood what the code did in the first place or which library maintainers need to hear about their bugs.

This is actually worse than developers copy-pasting from Stack Overflow because they don't benefit from other programmers spotting problems and/or up-voting solutions.
A sample answer with comments I created to teach Python to colleagues in 2014 is returned by ChatGPT verbatim w/o attribution.
