Depends really. Sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes hours. I took my time with this one but I forgot to time myself. I'd say it took me like 4 or 5 hours total across like 3 or 4 sessions to get this one done? I did a few tweaks and changes here and there as I went along.

Thanks! I’m slowly easing into animation right now, aside from the draftsmanship itself, I find the patience itself and trusting the process during its ugly phase to be the biggest challenge. I’ll keep at it

Good luck!! Actually, I find the earliest parts of the process the most fun. It's a lot more tedious and less fun for me the more details and the closer to clean up I get. Just a lot more freedom in the earlier rough stages.

It's a mix of both. I apply straight ahead methods for my keys just so they have a sense of flow. Then I retime and space them out to give way for IBs and i turn those straight ahead keys into pose-to-pose points.

I took my time with this one and kept adding and adjusting movement and timing, so I think around 4-ish hours? I used Clip Studio Paint EX for this one.

there's a bunch of free and cheap alternatives available too! If you're working on an ipad, there's roughanimator. on desktop there's things like opentoonz and krita.
