yeah he def has a point! especially since being pigeonholed by labels and music mags at the time was such a massive issue particularly in the shoegaze scene. i just also think kevin is unintentionally funny a lot of the time

the transition from and let me drift away and i fall she screams off Taste is still one of the most insane and funniest transitions i have ever heard on an album in my life. that album (and generally a lot of those late 80s early gaze records) really tread the line between shoegaze and noise rock
