I find nvm for Windows to be quite excellent. https://github.com/coreybutler/nvm-windows It's the only way I can successfully install it at the moment...and works consistently.

And that's why we're using CMP instead. We develop using the desktop version, but deploy using the WASM one.

Developers love it.
