For those unaware, NCMEC plays an absolutely critical role in the identification of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and the arrest of those who trade in it. In the U.S., they are the organization that runs the CyberTipline, which platform operators are required to send CSAM reports to.

Remember: When Trump and co. create boogeymen out of vulnerable groups, when they say it's all about kids, when those ridiculous "Save Our Children" rallies pass through my neighborhood in Hollywood... all of that is a ruse. It's all nonsense. Meanwhile, Trump puts kids at risk online.

Update: Literally minutes after I posted this, Judge Loren AliKhan blocked Trump's efforts to freeze these funds. It's temporary - until at least February 3 - and there will be a hearing on Monday at 11am Eastern to see what happens next.

That's a thoughtful question. Probably not. At least not in NCMEC's legally-mandated function (see below). Regular folks can continue to advocate against this blunt funding freeze by spreading awareness and contacting their representatives. I'm open to ideas! Thanks for reading.
