i read plenty of stuff with implausible setups or very little "story" and it's never bothered me, rather i just enjoy reading it without questioning the internal logic. 😅

some people really want everything in a comic to be explicitly introduced and spelled out - i used to take this kind of feedback very personally because i really do try to prioritize clarity, but it just kills the medium to follow this advice to its logical conclusion imo

i care a lot about avoiding outright incompetence where i actually forget that i haven't already said something to the reader, but i find that a lot of people are seemingly just not used to making inferences... i would personally never draw furry comics if i had to follow a traditional structure

I personally find that there are writers who are very good at planning a clear beginning middle and end, and there are other folks who have a point A to point B at least.

But some stories ARE just vibes. The only thing you can do is just start. You can always quit and do something else.

i think i just get caught up because i'm very type A usually and seem like the kind of person who should be able to get it all planned out but i think it has me overthinking and frozen. might at least start off with a vibey story and see what happens 😆

i went through this too! it's a very freeing feeling, realizing that you're, like... "allowed" to make ""less thoughtful"" stories & art
