The votes in the vocational panels also start their count today, but there's a fair amount of pre-count admin to be done, and the counts are so notoriously finicky that the five panels will be counted one after another. That count may run into Bank Holiday Monday!

It's only like 6,000 votes. (Well technically 6m) How long does it take to check the addresses of 1200 people on each vote by a large team?

Also can't they just do all 5 panels at once?

Congratulations to my friend @hazelchu.bsky.social running 4th in the Trinity panel for Seanad, behind by only 31 of 76,000 votes. Recount tomorrow. If she gets over the line at least our university graduates are ready to vote 50-50 for women. Our electorate and government seem to think 25% is OK?

If you registered in the last month or so, that's for the next Seanad elections. For the current university panels voting the deadline was many many months ago.
