Okay, people! I need fantasy (or romantasy) book recs with protagonists who are 30+ years old or - even better - middle-aged. Bonus points if they’re female. Please reskeet! #Booksky

I'm back. Outside of those already mentioned I only have Steven R. Donaldson's Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant.
Weis' and Hickman's Dragonlance Chronicles have a few older characters in the hundreds but for elves and dwarves that counts as middle age to me.
And Sergej Lukianenko's "Nightwatch" series in German.
I'm not sure if ancient writing dragons count but Walter Moers' Hildegunst von Mythenmetz is certainly over 30.
Susanna Clarke's "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" should also fit.
Broken Earth Trilogy is absolutely amazing by N.K. Jemisin. I don't know if the protagonist's age is revealed but she's a mom and probably middle aged.
Hast du die Memory, Sorrow and Thorn-Reihe von Tad Williams gelesen? In der Fortsetzungsreihe The Last King of Osten Ard sind die wichtigsten Protagonisten über 50.
The Hare and the Oak by Celia Lake is historical fantasy romance featuring a couple in their 50s. Also by Lake, Seven Sisters and Weaving Hope (due out Feb 7).
Lois McMaster Bujold, PALADIN OF SOULS has a middle-aged female protagonist and is really good. It’s a sequel to THE CURSE OF CHALION, so you might want to read that first. Fortunately it’s also really good.

And now I'm off to my bookcase to check if I have any more books that fit the bill.
