I have the pattern open in Knit Companion which has a horizontal movable slider to highlight the particular row in the PDF; that’s pretty much the only way I can keep track of cabled patterns

$20/year for the subscription and worth every penny of it. I think it’s available for both Mac (iOS, iPhone and iPad) and Android. I generally prefer using my iPad mini with it as it’s easier to see the pattern that way
