There's TONS of ways for foreign intel to get whatever they want without you knowing. So many, that something like the balloons (there were several, and very widely spread) doesn't make sense as a spying platform. Everything about the panic about the balloons was BS. - ThreadSky

I think you are missing the point. I was using the surveillance “blimp” as an example of the lengths (and brazenness) they will go to for espionage. There is far more data available to them on TikTok, so what makes you think they won’t use it?

There's no data on TikTok that isn't already being sold on the open market. The claims against TikTok and the balloon are largely fearmongering nonsense.

There *could* be an argument made that the algorithm of Tiktok could be used for messaging. That's technically true.

But Russia's already been doing that with Twitter. And now both Twitter and Facebook are siding with nazis and anti-LGBTQ hate and against humanity.

Also if we're going to get rid of foreign-owned intelligence assets, that must include Trump.

But also... China's trying to conquer the world with economics, not fascism. I'm significantly more concerned about Republicans actually harming the US than some theoretical threat that someday, TikTok might somehow become yet another Fox News.

We have bigger problems wearing US flags and red hats.
