I was a member of a union for years. Until when I needed the union's help and they left me all by myself with the problems. Union only reminded about my membership few months later after my monthly direct debit stopped sending the money.

There should be one! Being an associate member of a profession specific union helps the union and working members but pensioners need a forum for discussion about rights, fairness, and justice. Unless Age UK counts which I sincerely hope it doesn't.

If you were in a union in the past, most have retired member's options that are cheap - or free. You could also try https://www.npcuk.org 👇 - if you're interested in fighting for the rights of older people. My mum's active in it and says they're great.

My last year, where I discovered pensions taken from payroll were not being paid into the accounts showed the importance of a union.

I was a 'reality' TV worker for two decades.
There's never been a union for me to join.
But the only reason 'reality' TV ever got made in the first place was because it was all non-union (read: cheap to make so profits and exec fees stay high) from the beginning.
