Living in Europe and the EU I know this and I see the benefits of the union every day but many in the Uk dont/ wont. If the UK was to rejoin they would have to fully commit to the principles and ethos of the EU. Continuing the Us and them mentality wont work.The UK was always a dissenting voice.

The EU isnt without dissenting voices and nor should it but there is a gulf between Hungary & the UK in terms of who is defending the principles of Europe. The customs union is just one aspect that makes countries European. The UKs involvement in the balkans, North Sea & Ukraine speaks volumes
