Got a letter this week from our dentist saying they are stopping nhs altogether. I was already forced to have a private account. But they are now saying my kids also have to go private.

I've had to go private for over 20 years...... haven't seen a UK Dentist in over 3 as they can't fit me in for an appointment..... Now have a Dentist in the EU I see twice a year...... I'm now a health tourist!

To get an appointment at my local dentist, one must queue up outside the door on the 1st of each month. It opens at 8:30, I arrived at 8 to join the long line of 25 potential patients. I was a lucky one. It’s not possible to get an NHS dentist by phone.

Even if you are lucky enough to be registered with an NHS Dentist it doesn’t mean you can easily get an appointment.
My Dentist is struggling to cope with the patients he has on the books because he can’t recruit staff.

That ship has long sailed. I tried to get a dentist after the 2006 contract changes. Even if it's NHS you still get charged. I was charged £231 for a rubber bruxism guard that I got at a private dentist for half the price. Bring dentistry back 100% under NHS, especially for the young and old.

My partner goes private and tried to get an appointment with a hygienist because she’s having an issue. She was told next appointment is August!

My sons see a specialist dentist who treats SEND kids. They are no longer doing checkups, only taking emergency appointments.

I can’t get a dentist.
