It took decades to build trust in the NHS against years of hidden treatable diseases. A return to those days are likely. Late presentation = more expense.

If I know I need a specialist, it’s faster to skip all that.
She mostly just does the basics of any "well woman" exam like drawing blood, taking BP, etc.
Anything else, she refers you to a specialist.
