random but I just realized that bothe of these acronyms have "radical" in their names and neither are actually radical, both are conservative, puritanical, mainstream opinions, and don't fit the definition of "radical" xD
Both were once positions rooted within radical feminism, but the terms have long outgrown intra-community distinction and become common parlance, stripped of their original nuance. I find "transphobe" and "whorephobe" more useful these days.
Something really sick about targeting some of the most vulnerable populations for hatred. If your feminism isnβt intersectional, itβs useless and only serves to maintain the systems as they are.
Patriarchy thrives on this kind of exclusion and othering.
SWERFs are Sex Worker Exclusionary Radical Feminists, while TERFs are Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists. Both groups (who are often the same group) believe in (at best) excluding sex workers and trans women from their feminism. They also often target these groups with hatred and bigotry.
