He appears to have no background in activism or community organization. TPU lists no operating board or officers. He’s following no activists on social media, his feed is all about TPU/the boycott/his own thoughts, and his linktree only shows his mindfulness products. I’m… wary. 2/3

When a previously unknown white man with no credentials or qualifications steps alone to the center of the stage and says, “FOLLOW ME, I KNOW THE WAY,” my instinct is to run the opposite direction, but I’m seeing a LOT of folks excitedly posting about this group/boycott. What am I missing? 3/3

In looking at the website, it seems to me that he is just trying to rally people to support a reasonable and much needed cause. I don't see anything particularly concerning. I commend him for trying to gain traction with the ideas. Sometimes all it takes is a single spark to start a fire.

I think your questions are on target. Why isn’t he on Bluesky for example? It shows the org has raised $33K with $2 in expenses - mostly a website. If he is kind of a 1-man operation for now, that’s ok. I like the boycott ideas, but wouldn’t give money. Maybe at least he’s trying something?

And my concern isn’t really about the boycott; it’s about the platform boost he’s getting FROM the boycott, and the fact that he’s using that platform to raise money. The more folks who boost the boycott, the more $ he makes. I have concerns.
