I’m not entertaining any think pieces about why MVP lost the election that don’t include racism and misogyny! What she was able to do in 107 days was historic! Point blank period!

but at barely two weeks out from the election, and we are only getting takes that a man who has cheated at everything on his life including the last two elections, won this election fairly is blowing my mind
and it’s because of our racism and misogyny he is able to get away with it. everyone just expected the black lady to lose, so no one is asking, hey, what if that black lady who all indicators except the criminal enterprise polymarket, said was going to pull out a win, really did win?
I think we have been in denial about how to get our message out, and what that message should be. The other side has one of history's most effective propaganda machines. Harris ran an excellent campaign, but we need to better understand how to communicate with swing voters in swing states.
I disagree! Nothing wrong with our message! White people need to stop being racist babies and stop trying to impede progress when society tries to make things fair and equitable for others! Men need to deal with a world where women are in charge, and stop trying to control women and their bodies!
I'm not blaming Democrats. I'm not blaming Harris. I'm not excusing anyone. But somehow, our message didn't reach certain voters who might have voted for Harris. There's no question that racism & misogyny are horrible for society.
Morally, there is nothing wrong with our message. But it failed to connect with swing voters. I share your vision for a more equitable society. Speaking for myself, I was proud to vote for Harris and hope to see a female president in 2028.
She was only given 100 DAYS to get her message out.
Yet she generated a shocking amount of enthusiasm and fundraising for that short amount of time. Given more time to campaign, I think she could pull it off, especially after everything goes to hell under a 2nd 🍊 term.
I was talking to people up to the last minute who didn’t even know Joe Biden had dropped out—& the searches right at Election Day for “did Biden drop out” bear this out. Yes, there are racists but there’s also a ton of people that VP was successfully finding podcasts & other unusual ways to reach.
I know a lot of people in their 20s and 30s who don’t follow any news at all, had horrible schools, and are hardly online. They’re very susceptible to woo, chemtrail conspiracy, etc.
The reality is straightforward: the majority of Americans no longer engage with mainstream media. Traditional campaigning methods are outdated. The issue isn’t the message itself—it’s the failure to deliver it to the audiences that matter most.
Solid point and well said. ☺️ I want to expand on what I’m saying and where it’s coming from; The research for the film I’m working on now has me upside down on how most Americans (especially the right), get their information. It’s important that’s part of any new roadmaps.
I really wish there were a one talking point fits all. I just don't want to see people give into the we have to create a hate target to rally our base together. The whole point is to have less dehumanization, and a society that allows people to live without other'ing.
You make it sound like a normal election. It wasn't. People voted for a rapist, criminal who ran on nothing but hate and division and offered NOTHING to ordinary people, whereas Harris had a ton of policies for the people. Could Dems do better? Of course, but let's not make out this was a Dem fail.
This poll shows us that the majority of Democratic voters must have heard & liked her message a LOT. It’s not useful for 2028 but it’s useful for knowing she has potential & her campaign was effective.
The message that ⚪️ pundits keep pushing is people wanted a ⚪️ dude like Gavin & Kamala’s message didn’t matter—if that were true these numbers would be different.
You are asking Dems to once again center single issues over the plethora of issues that affect many of us. If people did not hear the unifying uplifting message the Harris-Walz campaign gave they did not want to hear it. Weve spent years begging folks to stop the voter apathy. They refuse.
And I am explaining that even with articulation, we are facing rampant entitlement and apathy. The only route I can see even remotely working is more community based peer leaders stepping up to teach people that a vote is a personal investment. Some folks trust non politicians more.
I absolutely agree with you that community based engagement is essential. Especially now when states and local folks will be on the front lines of defending freedom.
The majority of wht people are fine being racist and sexist, as long as nobody ever calls them on it. And these think pieces keep wrongly giving them credit b/c they think "well not all 70 million (or however many) could possibly be racist/misogynist.
I believe those are the only two reasons why she did not win. Sad. I believe she would have been an excellent president but this country elected a pathetic rapist dumb ass who shits his pants and wears makeup. Harris did not lose. America did.
Day one. I said “I’m not doing this hang wringing half of this country is irredeemable and that is all there is to it”. Everyone can learn something from a campaign but the VPs campaign was pure magic and we don’t deserve her.

It's nobody's fault but yours if you weren't listening.
Also, having sn MSM constantly sanewashing insanity & depravity isn't something Democrats have control over.
VP Harris was finding new ways to get that message out & her packed schedule shows how she didn’t have enough time to do it.
People who *heard* the message got it & liked it. She needed time to get it to more people.
There is nothing she could have said/done to offset their racism, misogyny, bigotry and plain stupidity.
Then again, Black people had the answer to how to make folks less racist/bigoted/ignorant, Trump never could have run.
Denial.
