I just don’t understand why the Leafs continue to hand out contract extensions to bottom pair/line guys. He was just a guy on the Marlies last year. We could have a shot at another just a guy on the Marlies next year and maybe that guy will end up being better.

You need bodies. Myers is a body. You can't really get cheaper than 850k. The league minimum will be 800k next year, no?

It's a problem if the Leafs think this is more than just a body.

Yea. I think Treliving is a pretty bad manager overall, but these are smart moves. Not sure why people see it as hand outs.

Why not? $850k for a guy whose results have been positive and the coach is comfortable with. He's outperformed Benoit this year for half the price.
