I think it's the Crypto Bros trying to make a second push for validity now that the active hate for it has died down, but to me it doesn't feel organic. The few posts that have slipped into my feeds have all at least felt like paid ads rather than any kind of real shift in people's attitudes.

I'm not sure what's goin' on there. Among my mutuals, I've seen zero chatter about crypto, positive or otherwise. And if I did, tbh, I'd be worried they got scammed somehow. 😬

I think interest in DOGE probably spiked because of Elons involvement in meme governing and I honestly suspect the entire point of him doing that was to rugpull it again

It is stupid & I still refuse to buy into the craze or use it. But if I can make a buck off owning a few stock & the US Government doesn’t say otherwise, why shouldn’t I make easy money?

It’s a simple equation of making money off someone else’s stupidity 🤷‍♀️

Regardless of my opinion of crypto I feel like it is more visible- in ads, sponsorships (like f1) & information is a little more accessible even than 2 years ago. It’s less like a dark corner of the internet thing to the avg person. People are likely to know at least 1 person who made some $ on it

I think the change in sentiment that you’re noticing is less “crypto getting popular”, and more that folks are noticing governments and corporations are broke, and regularly robbing you.

Few turn to Bitcoin so they don’t get poor slowly, others turn to crypto and go all-in to high risk gambling 🤷🏽‍♂️

I feel Election Night changed things for folks. Just seeing the big jump on Bitcoin did seem to trigger the FOMO even for the folks who've been swearing against it.

Personally, I think Crypto as a whole is kind of silly. I *get* looking at it and going "Damn, I wish I was making that kind of money for just sitting on it", though.

However, Crypto also reminds me of the Stock Market in the 1920s, and well, we know how that ended

Invest in popcorn, instead, imo
