Sometimes I think "you're telling people not to vote!" is a direct result of voting being propped up as the only way to participate in change. Criticizing Democrats lands differently if that's true – it feels like they're losing the one thing that gives them power. Except it's not true.

Voting is nice and all, but it is hardly a universal representation of the public desires when less than half are participating. Just my 2c! I wish we had more voters. And I wish we had systems to allow the people to keep their elected officials in check!
