Hello the HD2D remake of Dragon Quest III is EXCELLENT and almost ESSENTIAL playing, but it is NOT a port of the actual real game Dragon Quest III, and you should NOT expect direct parity with any other version.

i think it’s beautifully made intricately detailed little gift of a game that’s hard to put a price on at all, and i’ve played the gbc one so many times its crazy
I do enjoy the other stuff they’ve added instead much more, but MAN did I ever go ham on stuff like that on portables. Same with the Igavanias, which did something similar.
I couldn't quite get into dragon quest 11 tbh, but this game looks way more up my alley. Maybe it's the visuals? But also the story and characters look more appealing to me. This looks like a nice, comfy jrpg id play, and I plan to buy it soon
They’re all quite good, and I usually just recommend the one you can play most naturally or comfortably, but these days I would say grab this one or XI S!
I never played the original. But after watching about 30 seconds of gameplay for the original, I can kind of appreciate the remake so much more. I feel like I can imagine a bit what it was like to play the og. I keep thinking about what pokemon yellow would be like in that style
Yeah! I know sometimes jumping right to a remake can make enjoying an original difficult but it sounds like in this case both might stand on their own as excellent experiences
I would say if you love an old retro game experience and you’d appreciate an NES-limited experience, give one of the old ones a shot, but if you’re thinking back to back, maybe just go with the new one!
