Black Diamond is owned+controlled by Parmalat (Italy), who are owned by Lactalis (France). It's getting hard to tell Canadian vs foreign companies apart thanks to all these subsidiaries of subsidiaries.
But at least it's not American? Who needs Canadian owned business anyway?

*plans next grocery trip because I'm actually very curious on this one now*
It's been around for a long time to help Canadians know they are getting dairy that meets Canadians standards (No artificial growth hormones, etc..)
Did my digging on it before actually.
Lactantia is also owned by the "Canadian" subsidiary of Lactalis.
Canadian Cheeze or European cheeze is much, much better.
But at some point we need Canadian ownership of "Made in Canada" again. Keeping Canadian profits within Canada to be reinvested is essential if we ever want to thrive again, be less economically vulnerable to global events, and crack down on corporate power that's expanding globally.
