Perhaps. Biden has held back the European response to Putin's invasion. The US backing out could be the best or the worst thing for Putin. There is no doubt that the Europerans could flatten Russia and they have nuclear weapons too. It simply depends on their appetite if/when the crunch comes.

Only if the Europeans allow it. Putin's military is incredibly poor. Of that there's no doubt. Even if just Poland joined the war, Putin's forces would be rolled right back to the border and defeated. Will Poland do that? What of all the others, including the two European nuclear powers?

We'll see but one thing's for sure: Europe's armies could easily flatten Putin's forces and backed up by a nuclear deterrent too. The US has shouldered much of the financial burden of supporting Ukraine to date but at enormous huge cost. Its pragmatic proxy-warring has been disastrous for civilians.

I’ve seen nothing from European leaders, especially Scholz, that would lead me to believe they have a firm commitment to save Ukraine.

Biden’s approach has been weak, but going from that, to America being a Russian ally will be devastating for Ukraine.

I don't think a collection of European nations would decide to join the war. It would be more like a domino effect. They'd be pulled in one-by-one. UK residents mightn't support a war to save Ukraine but they would to save Germany. Like wise the Germans with Poland etc

Europe will be just fine. Ukraine has proven that Russia is not as powerful as they think. NATO is more powerful
