Ofc this isn't new, and in some kind of metropole/hinterland format it occurs in many states. It's utterly delusional, but that level of delusion didn't start with Trump. It's the same as conservatives getting to endlessly insult city dwellers while screaming like stuck pigs if it goes the other way
