i kinda get why people don't talk about it because I think it's very easy to be miscontrued as sympathy points scoring (who knows, I could be doing it right now!!) but no, I think this kind of thing is good to talk about as a sort of collective good. as preparation for when/if it happens to you 🫵

I agree that it's good. It's both important and incredibly useful to talk about our mental health. Good, bad or indifferent. We don't have any pause when talking about our physical health, so nor should we about out MH

the 'not talking about it' is actually THE thing that makes it hard to talk about it because we never learned to look at and analyse these things properly and haven't developed a vocabulary early enough to express and describe them to others.

It's like a reverse affirmation - what is not articulated can easily feel like it is not there at all. Also, the shame while opening up comes from the uncertainty whether others will 'get us' because from our own perspective we are oftentimes alone experiencing whatever is troubling us.

that's why it's important to try and really *see* people while they are going through something. really shift the focus to the unspoken ◡̈ (as far as everyone's okay with it ofc).

I think we are really not that different from each other, like everyone.. sure we are unique, quirky and weird in our own ways but on a biological level, we are pretty much the same. There's very little chance we are going to experience anything groundbreaking physically or emotionally.
