Did it a few months back. No regrets really. Opted for xfce over gnome, but might Gnome it up. The beauty of Linux. Just a shame I need to keep a Win 10 running for the few bits of software that aren't easily WINEd. Maybe a VM instead soon...

In this case, Fedora vs. Arch is tomato tomato, it'll work. Audio is what might give you issues the most, but that's because PipeWire is pants.

Just switched from Fedora to Arch by way of EndeavourOS on my own laptop.

Arch did not fix the issue I was having, does have more user friendly documentation.

If you need long term support, I don't think Fedora specifically is ideal for that (you should be looking at Debian or Ubuntu if you want long support). But you do get upgrades for free, so if you can afford updating to the next major version every so often, it isn't that big of a deal.

I think you *can* develop Unreal games on Linux, but not certain. Look into it, I remember there being some way to do it somewhere. Could be wrong though.

I've heard it's doable with Unreal 5, but it's a lot of vagueness. Enough that speccing a new system makes me leery to find it doesn't work after getting it installed.

If you've got some time, you generally don't need to spec a new system. Flash a USB drive with your OS of choice (I *do* hear fedora is ideal for workstation use), boot it up, and try it. IIRC you can download stuff in a live environment (won't save tho) and see if it works without wiping windows.
