Losing Virginia for a cycle or two would be a small price to pay for reducing the runaway bureaucracy. In Iowa we hear about how Trump policies will hurt farmers and already are. But 0 people have moved away from him. He even won the election again easily in Iowa.
I don’t think we can speculate any of this backfiring anytime soon.

Yup I remember that. Until there’s significant damage that affects millions of lives on a daily basis I just don’t see how he’ll be held accountable. His voters watch a completely diff media, he could raise taxes and they would argue he’s saving the country and they’ll hunker down for a bit.

If all the people the Musk-Trump administration are saying will be fired get fired that would destroy the economies of Virginia, Maryland, and DC. That means higher taxes, less services, and lower housing values. The GOP will be blamed. I expect Republicans to get decimated in the Virginia election.

A huge problem for Republicans by crowning Elon Musk a king who sits above Congress, the president and answers to no one is this is the first administration to be completely unmoored from public opinion. President Musk does not care about the voters because he doesn't need voters to wield power.

The layoffs have already begun and there is no rhyme or reason. The unelected billionaire dictating these firings is operating in complete darkness. The Republican governor and LG running for governor can't be bothered to defend Virginia jobs showing fecklessness and a lack of leadership.
