My first earthquake experience was on the 9th floor of a 10-story building in La Jolla just a few miles from where you are now. I had just moved to CA from KS and had only been there for 4 months. The building was on rollers so it swayed with the earth’s movement.

Fact. Whew. My 3rd one I remember was the Nisqually quake in 2001 in Seattle. That’s the one I thought we were all toast in. I watched a crack in the corner of my office start and run down the wall zipping side to side. Tools months to not have anxiety when big trucks drove by.

I was working in a multi story building in Irvine in the 90s, and during an earthquake, I experienced the same thing with the building on rollers. VERY weird sensation.
