Concacaf is a terrible region for a Champions League. The top 2 Leagues are miles head of everyone else and the gap is growing. It’s a fun tournament and a few MLS teams always embarrass themselves but it gets pretty boring watching Mexican teams win every year.

Leagues Cup has been a lot of fun to watch in its 2 years as a league wide event. This new version will help improve it. And because it is on Apple and not languishing on Fox it’s much better to watch on TV. So until CONCACAF actually does some work to improve CCC it’s always going to be an

You’re welcome to watch or not watch whatever you want. But having watched leagues cup for a couple years I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed watching it. It definitely has some flaws. It’s a work in progress. But so is everything else American soccer. At least there’s some games in 🇲🇽 this season.

There should just be an actual secondary Concacaf competition instead of this non-Concacaf bastardization. Make an actual Europa League equivalent. I don't even care if you stack it with MLS/Liga MX teams, it's better than this nonsense and at least carries some legitimacy.

I really like Leagues Cup, it’s the closest thing to a legit measuring of league quality. I’d love to see this in other neighboring leagues of similar quality, like Belgium and the Netherlands or Germany and France.

Mark is absolutely spot on with the commercial side of things. That doesn't mean they are on the right track though. I think the Concacaf Champions Cup has the potential to be something special. They just need to figure out a good way to make money from it.

Given that MLS and LMX would appear to split the gate for LC matches, I'd argue that THEY'D argue it's not stupid nonsense at all.

At least they're moving matches to midweek, playing games in Mexico, and not shutting their seasons down as in '23-'24.

I think a Concacaf North American Cup (including Canadian PL teams) would be a decent idea. Make it something you qualify for via league play. From a Concacaf pov, it would work well alongside the Caribbean and Central American Cups, offering some Champions Cup qualification for the next season.
