Maybe .... just maybe ... when you pay someone to be a Vice Chancellor £500,000 a year, and that person only has experience in academia and has never run a multi-million pound business, you get what you deserve?
Just like that old version of how Britain acquired its Empire — “in a fit of absence of mind”. I am sure they must have _some_ financial oversight procedures, even in a very polycentric university. Where is this deficit located?
