"While it may feel better to think of Trump supporters as misinformed rather than hateful - an uninformed public cannot sustain a freely elected democracy. This is exactly what Musk, Murdoch, Putin, and destabilizing forces from around the world are banking on." https://www.rawstory.com/raw-investigates/trump-disinfo/
My question is, if this, in the simplest terms, how the side that lost the election views the side that won, what can or will be done? Because the side that won, looks at the side that lost, much the same way. Education, information, elections, none of this stopped Hitler 2.0 from winning.
Worse yet, anecdotally, I can say I witnessed a great deal of misinformation on X during the election. And I also witnessed both the right and left, very intelligent people on both sides, not only fall for the misinformation, but recognize it as such and willingly spread it.
"Now the right has two huge social media networks: Truth Social and X. The thing that is so remarkable about the right-wing media is the cohesiveness of its voice — which doesn’t speak the truth." https://steady.substack.com/p/tune-in-not-out
That is why not long after Trump was elected the Premier of Ontario is already calling for pushing Mexico out of the free trade deal. It does give one the hint that the IDU/CPC/Trump are looking for a Latino free North America.
"But this line of analysis requires that we ask one more question. And it’s the crucial one: Why didn’t a majority of voters see these things? And understanding the answer to that question is how we start to dig out of this tragic mess."
Even with right-wing media feeding them a steady stream of lies though, people who voted for Trump must surely have known that he's a convicted felon, fraudster and adjudicated rapist who stole top secret documents. It didn't seem to matter.
"He predicted few changes ahead from platforms that have largely exempted elected officials from fact-checking "because they don't want to make the politicians mad."
That's what happens when you let all the media be bought up by wealthy people whose main concern is becoming wealthier.

MISinformation is I told you I lived at 3894 EAST Shadyside Drive and not 3894 WEST Shadyside Drive.
The first is on purpose. The second is a senior moment.
